What is a clearance letter?

A clearance letter is an acknowledgement by the bank that your auto loan has been paid in full and that all the terms of the loan have been satisfied. So if you’ve cleared your auto loan and your loan account is closed, you can ask the bank for a clearance letter and transfer the vehicle to your name.

Once your request is processed, you’ll receive an SMS with a reference number on your registered mobile number. You can then visit the Traffic Department of the emirate in which your vehicle is registered to have the registration transferred to your name.
