DirectRemit allows you to transfer money instantly and for free to banks in the countries listed below.

DirectRemit is meant for personal transactions only and you need to transfer a minimum of AED 100.

Can’t use DirectRemit?

To transfer to countries or banks that are currently not available for DirectRemit transfers, you can use our regular international transfers.

Before you use DirectRemit, your recipient must be listed as a beneficiary. If they’re not, you can add them as a new beneficiary now via Online Banking or Mobile Banking.

Processing time and charges

Depending on when you initiate your DirectRemit transfer, it could take as little as 60 seconds. Each of our DirectRemit countries have its own processing and crediting schedules. These vary depending on the country and bank to which you are transferring.

Yes, you can. Please note, standing instructions for DirectRemit to Sri Lanka and the UK are currently not available.

To setup a new standing instruction for transfers or payments, follow these simple steps on Online Banking:

  • Click on Pay and transfer > Transfer or Payment
  • Select a beneficiary from the list or start a new transfer or payment
  • Enter the beneficiary details or amount, enable Auto-payment and Next
  • Review and Submit
  • You will receive an authorisation on your mobile app to proceed with this request. Open your Mobile App and Slide to confirm
  • Enter yourSmart Pass PIN*

No, you can’t reverse a DirectRemit transfer. If the details you have provided are inaccurate, then the transfer will be returned to your Emirates NBD account within 3 to 5 working days. You’ll be liable to bear the exchange loss, should there be any.

Here are some of the reasons DirectRemits can be delayed:

  • The transfer was initiated after processing hours, or it’s a bank holiday in the recipient’s country. Your request will then be processed the next working day.
  • Your beneficiary details are inaccurate, or your transfer was made for business and not personal purposes. In this case, your transfer will be returned within 3 to 5 working days.
  • The bank may require more information for some transfers. If this is the case, your request will need to be processed using Emirates NBD’s regular international transfer service.
  • Partner banks may seek additional details either from remitter or beneficiary, which may also result in a delay.
